To Commemorate The International Day For The Girl-Child, CASFOD Trained Adolescent Girls On Digital Literacy

In commemoration of the International Day for the Girl-Child with the theme “Invest in Girls’ Rights: Our Leadership, Our Well-being,” CASFOD team visited Kaleri Junior Day Secondary School Mafa LGA of Borno State to sensitize adolescent girls on digital literacy and the need for them to be aware of their fundamental rights and potentials.

The programme targeted 50 adolescent girls from JSS 1-3 for training on digital literacy skills and the ways in which they can protect themselves from harmful technology usage.

The girls were introduced to Kahoot (a digital quiz game) with the aim of exposing them to the use of digital tools for educational purposes.

CASFOD’s commitment to the education and livelihoods of women and children is resolute, we will continue to make efforts in ensuring that all girls at all levels get access to quality education in order to contribute to the success and progress of our nation.

Today’s event is also an introduction for our upcoming technology-driven quiz competition and spelling bee which is expected to kick-start on 6th November, 2023. The competition is only open to Government Junior Secondary Schools within Mafa, Kaga, MMC, Konduga and Jere local government areas of Borno State. We hope that the pilot project will set the stage for bigger projects so as to enhance academic performance of children across Borno state and the Northeast.
