Borno State House of Assembly Member, Hon. Ali Kotoko, Applauds CASFOD’s Educational Initiatives at the International Day for Education Event
In his remarkable commitment to education, Hon. Ali Kotoko, the honourable member representing MMC in the Borno State House of Assembly graced the event organised by CASFOD with support from UNICEF, CATAI, Education in Emergencies and Education Cannot Wait, to commemorate the International Day for Education at the Elkanemi Hall, University of Maiduguri.
The event, which was graced by partners, schoolchildren, education stakeholders and distinguished guests, featured insightful panel discussions on climate change and the thrilling finals of the spelling bee and mathematics quiz competition.
The honourable member expressed his admiration for CASFOD’s impactful initiatives in supporting learners and promoting academic excellence in public schools across Borno State. Notably, he lauded CASFOD’s AGREE project, particularly the spelling bee and tech-driven maths quiz which aim to improve the quality of learning outcomes of adolescent boys and girls in public schools.
In his address, the honourable member highlighted the crucial role of such initiatives in shaping a brighter future for the younger generation. He commended CASFOD for fostering a culture of academic excellence and emphasised the need for collaborative efforts in advancing education.
During the event, Hon. Ali Kotoko demonstrated his commitment by donating a generous sum of N100000 to the finalists. Additionally, he pledged an ongoing support for the education of the competition winners.
