HERE ARE OUR APPROACHES

Below are our well thought out approaches on our respective thematic goals:
Health1
Our strategy 1

Improve health and nutritional status of women and children

  • While coordinating with other agencies, we shall support the provision of life saving, quality healthcare services to underserved and emergency affected communities where we work. We will invest into coordination efforts to work with other partners who are able to provide lifesaving services through clinical assistance and stabilization centers.
  • We shall respond in a timely manner to disease outbreaks through rapid response mechanism and coordinated preparedness and prevention actions. For disease outbreaks that are cyclical and non-cyclical, we shall work with relevant partners and agencies to set up preparedness and contingency plans and respond adequately.
  • In communities of implementation, we shall maintain and improve access to healthcare and strengthen systems recovery. We shall provide integrated prevention and support treatment services to mitigate a decline in the nutrition situation and support recovery for those already malnourished.

Our strategy 2

Increase education opportunities with a focus on girls

  • Through engagement with affected communities, we shall increase access for emergency affected children to inclusive quality formal and alternative education opportunities.
  • We shall challenge social norms and barriers that limit girls education across the country with a focus on areas that are affected by different emergencies.
  • We shall engage in policy influencing and advocacy towards an increase in education spending and the safety of schools and other learning institutions.
  • We will support the capacity development of government education system and community structure for better education response and information management.

Protect women and children

  • We shall prevent, reduce and respond to protection risk, mitigating their effects while enhancing the resilience of affected persons.
  • Our programs will work with community members including women and girls to strengthen community systems and institutions to prevent gender related violence and promote gender equity.
  • We shall advocate for the implementation of laws and policies that prevents women and children from all forms of violence.
  • We shall work to ensure that children thrive to their full potential through cross sectoral collaborations.

Improve access to WASH products and services

  • Our programs will work to support assistance through the provision of safe and portable water for the affected population.
  • We shall improve sanitation services across communities and support behavioral change to sustain.
  • Our programs will support children and women to maintain proper hygiene practices.
  • We shall support sustainable and safe liquid and solid waste evacuation procedures.

Promote sustainable livelihood

  • We shall support in the provision of cash for work to affected persons with a greater focus on women.
  • Our programs shall aim at providing employment opportunities while expanding response to allow for income generating activities and economic empowerment.
  • We will work to promote shared values and build social cohesion in the communities we work.
